Amanda Jakich is a maker/artist who dabbles in a number of different mediums, depending on her creative ideas at the time. From painting to jewellery making, photography to lamp design, Mandy’s practice and creative process is built around experimentation with ideas and materials. Her work responds to the skies, seas and land of New Zealand and often captures┬áthe constantly changing moods, colours and moments of Muriwai Beach, reflecting her deep connection to this place.

Her jewellery range includes rings and pendants, made from shell and resin, shell and clay or clay alone. The idea of the whelk shell that is naturally ground down by the sea and is often worn as a ring was her starting point and she has built on this idea by adding resin or clay to embellish the natural shell. Her clay pendants respond to the landscapes of the west coast of NZ.
