Kiri continues to explore drawing through mark making and line. This ongoing conversation between line and the natural world has meandered and threaded itself throughout Kiri’s work for the past 20 years, and has involved at different times, graphite, ink, burning, hammering holes, natural pigments and charcoal. Recently, she has been exploring the grid as a structure, and weaving line in and amongst it to find new visual outcomes – a greater letting-go, allowing the drawing itself to take the lead. These drawings continue to enforce slowness and rhythm – ways of nature, and of being, which are at odds with so much of life as we know it.
