This series of photos were taken in late summer 2017 a little north of the creek on Muriwai beach.
For a while now I have had a fascination with turning the ordinary into something a little different, by pushing exposure times, depth of field, focus and filtration as well as time of day I am trying to offer a perspective on a scene or image where the viewer needs to use his or her imagination to explore what is on offer.
All the photographs I have on display were taken on a digital camera with a standard lens and have not been retouched, graded, or altered in any way.
My ongoing pursuit is to create a painterly like image that is pleasing to the eye in its composition, form and colour and blurs the barrier between painting and photography. Ideally giving the viewer an ongoing experience where they can explore different and developing aspects of the image.

Although I have been taking photos in my spare time for several decades exploring the ideas and concepts mentioned above I would like to to thank the Muriwai Arts Trail for the impetus and encouragement to develop these ideas further.
